Best Management Practices Required for Mooring Registration

You must have a Best Management Practices (BMP) Certificate in order to register your existing moorings by the end of 2020 or to apply for new moorings in 2021.

Check your property’s BMP status at www.tahoebmp.org to see if you are in good standing.

Once you register your existing moorings, you’ll need to provide evidence that your property complies with water quality BMPs. You’ll need either a BMP Certificate of Completion, or a Source Control Certificate in order to register in subsequent years, or to apply for a mooring allocation.  That means common property for Associations need to be compliant, even if there is no coverage on the parcel.  Some owners will need to have a site assessment and may require driveways to be paved.
