NV Boater Education Card
All persons born on or after January 1, 1983 who will be operating a vessel over 15 hp in Nevada are required to complete a nationally-approved Boating Safety Course and carry a valid Nevada Boater Education Card while operating any type of vessel.
Take the NV boating education course online exam here to get your Nevada boating card—the cards are good for life, duplicates are free and it covers Nevada’s mandatory education law. For or an overview of Nevada Boating Regulations visit www.ndow.org/boat.
NV Aquatic Invasive Species Decal
The NV AIS decal requirement was established in 2011 to prevent the spread of harmful aquatic species threatening Nevada’s waterways.
California Exemptions: ONLY registered vessels are exempt from the purchase of Nevada’s AIS decal for the interstate waters of Lake Tahoe and Topaz Lake. Exemptions DO NOT APPLY to non-registered vessels such as canoes, kayaks, and other paddle craft vessels that are capable of retaining water. Click here for details.
