TRPA SHOREZONE PROCESS
NOTICE: Due to the recent federal court ruling which nullified the TRPA Shorezone Ordinances adopted in 2008, the TRPA has implemented a 90-day moratorium (through December 22, 2010) on all shorezone projects in order to determine how to proceed.
REPAIRS:
Ordinary maintenance and repair under TRPA's Exempt and Qualified Exempt process from the previous code of ordinances are the only activities allowed until further notice. (PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR TRPA SHOREZONE INFORMATION & APPLICTION LINK)
Highlights of some of the allowable activities include but are not limited to:
- Up to $8,500 structural repair to piers, boathouses, and other shorezone structures (material cost only.)
- Replacement of non-structural members
- Replacement of mechanical equipment
- Repair of rock cribbing
Of course if emergencies exist, contact TRPA for advice and process through their expedited emergency process.
Check with TRPA and all other regulatory and permitting agencies for permitting advice and requirements for any repairs being made to shorezone structures.
