TRPA REGISTRATION FOR EXISTING MOORINGS STILL BEING ACCEPTED IN 2020
Even if you registered your buoys and lifts back in 2009-2010 under the old TRPA ordinances, you must register ALL OF YOUR MOORINGS again in 2019. Failure to register your existing moorings may cause you to lose your mooring rights in future years.
Visit the TRPA website https://laketahoeinfo.org/moorings to register your moorings. Don't delay!
TRPA is still processing mooring registrations from 2019. And while they work through the backlog, new moorings will not be released.
After you submit your application, TRPA will review your application before you pay any registration fees. TRPA will notify you of any additional requirements or questions. If everything is in order, you will be prompted to pay for your moorings, and then the process is complete. ONLY BUOYS will receive a tag. TRPA will mail you buoy identification tags for you to install. Once your TRPA registration fees have been paid, you should send a copy of your registration to the appropriate state land agency.
BMP Requirements: You must have completed your Best Management Practices (BMPs) to register in future years. Contact Joan Douglas, TRPA Environmental Technician at 775-589-5216 or visit www.tahoebmp.org to check your property status.
MOORING QUESTIONS: Contact Matt Miller at mmiller@trpa.org or (775) 589-5234.
